Help shape the next Cornwall Carers Strategy

18.07.25

Cornwall Carers Service encourages working age carers to join evening sessions this July to help shape the next Carers Strategy.

Cornwall Council and partners are developing a new strategy for children, young people and adults who care for loved ones in Cornwall. As they shape the future of carer support, one thing is absolutely clear: your views and your voices must be at the heart of it.

You bring something we can’t find in data alone — lived experience. You know what works, what doesn’t, and where the real challenges lie. You live it every day. Your insight is invaluable. It helps us identify where support is missing, where barriers exist — even the ones we might not see — and where hidden needs are going unmet. By sharing your experiences, you’re not just helping us improve services — you’re helping to make them truly person-centred. That means support that’s tailored, respectful, and practical for the real situations carers face.

We know that many unpaid and informal carers are of working age and may not be able to attend sessions during the day. Whether you're caring for a family member full-time, helping a neighbour with shopping and cleaning, or anything in between, we want to hear from you. Your experiences matter. We’re committed to co-designing services with the people who use them, so that everyone can access the right support, in the right place, at the right time. Your feedback is vital in helping us shape future carer services. Therefore, we are hosting three evening engagement sessions online for you to be able to give us your experiences of caring in Cornwall.
