Cornwall Rural Community Charity (CRCC) is a well-established Cornish charity providing a range of services across the county supporting people and communities in need.
We are recruiting an Education Support Assistant to our Learn Your Way/Work Your Way programme, working with learners aged 16 to 24 who have SEND.
This rewarding role requires you to provide 1:1 or group support to young people so that they can achieve their educational outcomes. You will have experience of working in a classroom or community / social care setting or perhaps work experience or Supported Internship with young people and be able to communicate effectively with them, helping to break down complex information into understandable chunks. We work with some learners who do not communicate verbally so having experience of other communication methods would be an advantage for interested candidates. Knowledge of Makaton, diabetes and epilepsy would be desirable skills if you have them.
The ability to create effective relationships with young people that enables you to motivate and encourage engagement is also essential. As the young people we are working with all have different interests, we look to recruit someone who may have a wide range of experience such as outdoor pursuits, gardening, community projects, cooking and health and wellbeing.
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role, for which the organisation pays.
Please submit an application form to our jobs inbox, as unfortunately CVs cannot be accepted.
