Celebrating 80 Years of Community Action

In 2026, CRCC reaches a significant milestone: 80 years of supporting people and strengthening communities.

Since our beginning, we have worked alongside local people to tackle challenges and build resilience. While our roots remain firmly in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, our reach and impact now extend further, with dedicated projects in Swindon, Wales, and beyond. To mark this anniversary, we are sharing the stories, photographs, and videos that define our history—while remaining focused on the future of the diverse communities we serve. Throughout the year, we will host a series of events showcasing our current work, culminating in a Gala event this autumn.

The "£80,000 for 80 Years" Campaign

Today, we launch our most ambitious anniversary initiative: a drive to raise £80,000 to establish a new community grant fund.

Our goal is simple but impactful. If successful, we will provide 80 local projects with a grant of £1,000 each. This isn't just about the funding; successful applicants will also receive dedicated support from CRCC’s specialist staff to help bring their ideas to life.

The Vision:

  • Target: £80,000 raised by the end of our anniversary year.

  • Impact: 80 distinct projects funded across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

  • Purpose: To solve real problems and address needs identified by the communities themselves.

Turning Ideas into Action

These grants are designed to spark tangible change at a grassroots level. A £1,000 grant, combined with CRCC expertise, can be the catalyst for projects such as:

  • Establishing a community allotment to tackle food insecurity and social isolation.

  • Launching a local peer support group for those facing specific health or social challenges.

  • Purchasing new accessibility equipment to ensure community spaces are inclusive for everyone.

  • Renovating a village hall to preserve a vital local hub.

  • Starting an environmental initiative to protect our unique coastal and rural landscapes.
