Carers Week 2026
09.06.26
This week is Carers Week and the national theme is Building Carer Friendly Communities.
This year’s national theme reflects our commitment to working with partners across Cornwall and in Swindon to recognise carers, understand their role, and make practical adjustments, while creating spaces where carers feel welcomed, connected and supported.
All week, Cornwall Carers Service will be sharing stories, information, and support for carers across Cornwall. And this Friday 12 June, they are hosting an event designed specifically for carers. This event will provide:
Information & Resources: Learn about services and support available to carers in Cornwall
Networking Opportunities: Meet and connect with other carers who understand your journey
Refreshments: Complimentary refreshments included, as well as a lunch hamper to takeaway
Support Services: Speak with Cornwall Carers Service staff about your individual needs
Wellbeing Workshops: Take part in interactive sessions designed to boost wellbeing, build confidence, and help you develop new skills
Relaxed Atmosphere: Take time for yourself in a supportive, understanding environment

And this year, as part of Carers Week, we are extremely proud to announce the launch of Swindon Carers Together and the Swindon Carer Strategy development.
On Wednesday 10th June, SCT are hosting the first "kick-off" event to co-design the Carer Strategy in Swindon with a range of Carers. This will lead to further sessions supported by selected Carers, Professionals and Organisations to gather further context about what caring means to the people of Swindon. This is all to help the Carer Strategy in partnership with Swindon Borough Council
