Strategic Manager: Carers, Wellbeing and Prevention, Innovation and Growth

We are very excited to recruit three new strategic manager level roles to the strategic leadership team at CRCC to lead our organisation into the next 80 years of its development. We are an exciting and diverse charity at a pivotal point in our history, celebrating 80 years and developing new projects and partnerships across Cornwall and in other parts of the country. You would be joining a positive and dedicated team of professionals of 100 plus staff as we develop our key themes of work. We are seeking an experienced and influential Strategic Manager to lead the development, growth and long-term direction of our Carers, Wellbeing and Prevention portfolio.

Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid – Cornwall, with some travel to Swindon
Salary: £50,000

This is a senior leadership role, working directly with the Chief Executive and as part of CRCC’s strategic leadership structure to shape a coordinated, high-impact and preventative offer across Cornwall and beyond.

About the role

This is a pivotal role leading a complex and significant portfolio of services, including carers services, community outreach, crisis response and grassroots development.

You will provide strategic leadership across a broad and evolving area of work, ensuring services are integrated, high quality, preventative and sustainable, while responding to system priorities and community need.

The role combines organisational leadership, system influence and income generation, positioning CRCC as a key partner in prevention, early intervention and community-based support.

You will play a leading role in shaping future services, strengthening partnerships and securing investment to support long-term impact.

What you will do

  • Provide visible senior leadership and strategic direction for Carers, Wellbeing and Prevention

  • Lead the development of a coherent, whole-system prevention approach

  • Oversee a complex portfolio of services and programmes, ensuring quality, performance and impact

  • Drive innovation, growth and service development across the portfolio

  • Lead strategic relationships with commissioners, health partners, local authorities and VCSE organisations

  • Act as a senior ambassador for CRCC at partnership boards and system forums

  • Lead a proactive approach to income generation, funding and commissioning opportunities

  • Ensure strong oversight of finance, safeguarding, compliance, risk and governance

  • Contribute to whole-organisation strategy, leadership and external positioning

About you

You will be an experienced and credible senior leader, with a strong understanding of prevention, carers services or community-based support.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience of leading complex service portfolios at a strategic level

  • Strong understanding of prevention, early intervention and system working

  • Experience of income generation, commissioning and partnership development

  • A track record of influencing across health, social care or VCSE systems

  • Experience of leading high-performing teams and organisational change

  • Strong financial oversight and understanding of sustainability and value for money

  • A commitment to values-led leadership, co-production and community-based approaches
