Strategic Manager: Rural and Coastal, Innovation and Growth.
We are very excited to recruit three new strategic manager level roles to the strategic leadership team at CRCC to lead our organisation into the next 80 years of its development. We are an exciting and diverse charity at a pivotal point in our history, celebrating 80 years and developing new projects and partnerships across Cornwall and in other parts of the country. You would be joining a positive and dedicated team of professionals of 100 plus staff as we develop our key themes of work. We are seeking an experienced and influential Strategic Manager to lead the development, growth and long-term direction of our Rural and Coastal portfolio.
Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid – this role will be expected to cover Cornwall and some travel across the country if necessary
Salary: £50,000
Cornwall Rural Community Charity (CRCC) is a well-established Cornish charity dedicated to supporting and strengthening Cornwall’s Communities to improve quality of life.

As Strategic Manager,you will lead the development of innovative, community-led solutions to some of the region's most significant challenges, influencing policy, partnerships and investment while helping communities thrive.
This is a senior leadership role,working directly with the Chief Executive and as part of CRCC’s strategic leadership structure to shape a coordinated, high-impact offer across Cornwall and beyond.
About the role
This role operates within a dynamic and evolving environment, where rural and coastal communities face complex and changing challenges including isolation, access to services, economic disadvantage and health inequalities.
The postholder will operate at a strategic level, influencing partners, shaping responses across systems and ensuring CRCC's services remain rooted in the strengths, experiences and priorities of local communities.
The role will require balancing strategic leadership with oversight of a diverse and developing portfolio of projects and partnerships, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and financial sustainability.
What you will do
Provide visible senior leadership and strategic direction for Rural and Coastal Communities provision.
Lead the development of innovative, place-based and community-led approaches that respond to rural and coastal disadvantage
Identify emerging needs, trends and opportunities across Cornwall and translate these into new programmes and service models with associated funding streams
Drive organisational growth within this portfolio, including development of new income streams, commissioned services and partnerships
Oversee service design, ensuring delivery is inclusive, evidence-informed and grounded in co-production with communities
Lead strategic planning, contributing to business plans, growth strategies and organisational development
Champion continuous improvement, embedding learning, evaluation and impact into service development.
About you
A credible, values-led senior leader with strong commitment to strengthening rural and coastal communities, inclusion, resilience and opportunity.
You will bring:
• Significant senior leadership experience within one or more of the following sectors: rural and coastal development, community development, regeneration, the voluntary sector, public services or social impact organisations.
• Experience of setting strategic direction, shaping organisational culture and leading service growth, innovation or transformation.
• Experience of operating at senior leadership level, including contributing to organisational strategy, business planning, risk management and trustee or Board-level reporting.
• Ability to maintain strategic oversight of service quality, workforce, finance, safeguarding, compliance, impact, contract performance and risk.
You will be motivated to strengthen CRCC’s role in addressing rural and coastal disadvantage through place-based, community-led approaches

Regular travel across Cornwall and some travel outside of county
